Dairy Farmer Forced to Dump Milk
WA Farmers have been forced to get rid of nearly 16 thousand litres of milk after being dropped by their distributor.
The Harvey farmers were left with no other choice but to dump their stock after they had no way of getting rid of it. The milk will be pumped into paddocks but this will cost the farmers dearly.
The milk industry has been under pressure for some time now and with distributors having to pick the cheapest milk after already being over stocked, it is unfortunately leaving several dairy farmers will a lot of product that they unable to move which needs to be moved quicker than other products.
Hopefully this Harvey farmer will find another way to sell his milk and get production up and running again. To help, remember to continue to buy local milk at your grocery store, even if it is a little more expensive.
