Bunbury has Another Shopping Centre... Again
The Bunbury Plaza celebrated its grand opening this morning after 18 months of major upgrades at the shopping centre.
Included in the overhaul was a car park expansion, revamped Woolworths and brand new store fronts for existing tenants and the welcoming of several new businesses.
City of Bunbury Mayor attended this morning’s opening and praised the owners of the Plaza, the Markotis family, for their vision. He also acknowledged Perkins builders, anchor tenant Woolworths and other centre tenants for a successful completion of this major transformation.
“I applaud the vision and confidence of the owners and I greatly appreciate the efforts of City staff who worked cooperatively with Perkins using a proactive can-do approach to some challenging issues,” Mr Brennan said.
“Local community members I spoke to were very impressed with the new Woolworths store which was described as the State’s best. “I will continue to encourage property owners in the Highway precinct to consider upgrading their properties advising our City officers are available to assist.”
As part of the Plaza’s grand opening the community is invited to help celebrate with a host of entertainment and activities on offer from today and for the rest of the week.
Bunbury Plaza is located at 2 Forrest Avenue, South Bunbury.
