Aussie Surfer Claims His iPhone7 Exploded

Think you’re safe from exploding mobile phones because you’re an Apple user? Think again.

An Australian surfer claims that his Apple iPhone 7 exploded and destroyed his car’s interior while he was in the water.

Mat Jones told Yahoo7News he left his iPhone 7 under a pile of clothes inside his car before heading out to do surf sessions.

When he returned the vehicle filled with smoke.

The Apple smartphone overheated and burned the car’s interior along with the owner’s clothes.

“As I looked into my car, you could not see inside the car, like all the windows were just black,” Jones said.  “Ash was just coming from inside the pants which then, once you unwrapped the pants, the phone was just melting inside of it.”

Apple is reportedly aware of what has happened. The tech giant will launch an investigation to determine the factors that led to its phone’s combustion.
