Firefighters in FNQ will be on high alert this weekend.
Areas of FNQ are expected to experience low humidity and high temperatures - increasing the fire risk.
Rural Fire Service (RFS) Far Northern Regional Manager Lawrence Laing said fire activity continued across the region and the heightened conditions meant this would only increase.
“We are already experiencing significant fire activity in parts of the region and the coming conditions are only going to exacerbate this,” Mr Laing said.
Any fires of concern should be reported immediately by phoning Triple Zero (000).
