The Playboy Prince (And Now King) Of Thailand
Thailand’s beloved king Bhumibol Adulyadej has died overnight - with his son Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn likely to ascend the throne.
Despite training at Australia’s Royal Military College Duntroon and boasting a long list of military titles, the crown prince has shown reluctance to engage with the Thai people in the same way his revered father has.
Instead, he’s turned his attentions to womanising and self-indulgence on an appropriately royal scale.
He's married and divorced 3 times, and showers wealth on pet poodle Foo Foo – who he made a high-ranking Air Force officer.
He's also gained a reputation for flamboyance.
German newspaper Bild famously printed pictures of the prince wearing a tight crop-top, defying the country's harsh lese-majeste laws which impose stiff penalties on anyone speaking ill of the royal family.

But the death of his father has had a sobering effect on the crown prince; he’s called for a year of mourning for the king and will take personal mourning time before he ascends to the throne.
The King was 88 when he died and had ruled Thailand for more than 7 decades, making him the longest-serving living world leader.
